Genus
Positive-sense RNA Viruses

Genus: Furovirus

Family: Virgaviridae

Genus: Furovirus

Distinguishing features

Furoviruses have a bipartite genome, a “30K”-like cell-to-cell movement protein and are transmitted by root-infecting vectors in the family Plasmodiphorales, once described as fungi but now classified as Cercozoa.

Genus
Positive-sense RNA Viruses

Genus: Benyvirus

Family: Benyviridae

Genus: Benyvirus

Distinguishing features

Since only one genus is currently recognized, the genus description corresponds to the family description.

Species demarcation criteria

Benyviruses are distinguished by coat protein sequences of less than 90% amino acid identity, distant serological relations and distinct host ranges.
